Author Bio
Susan “Sus” Barker grew up in Dupo, Illinois, a small railroad town outside St. Louis. She spent her childhood exploring the beautiful Mississippi River bluffs, marshes, and fossil-filled creeks at the edge of town. From those explorations came a love for nature that set her on a path to earning a doctoral degree. As a retired science educator, naturalist, and author, she believes everything is understandable…if we have the right teacher!
